Life’s full circle moments
Join us down the winding path of our latest fall Family photo session in Fish Creek Park.
Sometimes, life has a funny way of coming full circle. A few weeks ago, we had the absolute pleasure of photographing Wendi, my son Aiden’s preschool teacher, along with her wonderful family. It feels like just yesterday when Aiden was in her class, barely able to sit still for 30 seconds of art before rushing off to the next activity. Wendi and I used to laugh as she showed me his “masterpieces” he created each week. Who would have thought that years later, Aiden would be creating art for a living as my second shooter! I love life’s poetic irony.
Wendi and her husband Stefan have three boys—two young adults and their eight-year-old, who was the star of our session. We met at the beautiful Bow Valley Ranche in Fish Creek Park, a favorite spot in Calgary for family sessions. The winding paths, golden fields, and towering trees set the perfect scene. This little guy was a ball of energy, much like my Aiden was, and even came decked out in homemade lego belt buckle. It was very cool.
From the moment we started, it was clear who was going to lead the way. Their youngest son’s curiosity and sense of adventure became the heart of the session. Every time he wanted to explore, we followed his lead, finding new spots for stunning photos as he paused to take in his surroundings. It was the perfect way to let the boys be themselves and capture the family’s genuine dynamic.
Wendi and Stefan’s love for their family shines through, and it was such a joy to see these moments unfold naturally. It’s amazing how life circles back around, and I feel so grateful to have been a part of this special time for their family!
