I have been so excited to share this blog post about Bianca and Carlos’ engagement shoot. We did not want to post about it before they had the opportunity to share the photos with their friends and family. Bianca contacted me in the summer to ask about the possibility of Aiden and I shooting their upcoming wedding in 2025. We have been praying for the right opportunity to come along for us to expand into weddings. After a lot of great discussions, we both decided to move forward on working together. We have been blessed with an amazing first couple to take this step with in our business. The Couple

It was evident during our interactions with Carlo and Bianca that their relationship is centered on Jesus and rooted in their deep commitment to living a life pleasing to God. They desire for their marriage to be one filled with grace, support, and joy. From the start, their bond was shaped by their shared faith, having met, become friends, and starting to date at church.

Their love story blossomed over years of courtship, marked by a few years of ministry and service together. Through every milestone, they found confirmation of their path forward through God’s gentle affirmations and the support they extended to each other.

The Vision

This couple envisioned images that encapsulate their life’s values and the essence of their relationship. Bianca, known for her gentle and quiet spirit, hoped the photos would capture her as Carlo sees her—a loving, faithful partner. Carlo desired that the photos reflect the deep love and respect they share. He also wanted them to be reminders of God’s provision and the bond that brought them together.

They also wanted the session to reflect their shared loved of the outdoors and nature. Along with that, they desired to showcase their unique interest in the country of China and their desire to travel there. They are both working on language acquisition and dreaming of the day that they will be able to explore this beautiful country together.

The Location

When it came to finding the perfect location for this photoshoot we explored a few different options for them. Carlo asked if we knew of any great locations in the south part of the city near Spruce Meadows. This is a new area for us, so one day I hopped in the car and set out to exploring many back roads in the country. I got a bit carried away and ended up all the way in Sheep River Provincial Park! I found many stunning locations that day to say the least.

As I was heading back into the city I just prayed and asked for help to find a great spot for this session. Within 30 secs I saw a sign for a park that I had never heard of and promptly turned off the highway. Next, I stumbled on one of the most stunning locations I have ever found for taking photos. I also had a lovely chat with an avid hiker who educated me about this special property in the parking lot.

I immediately took some pictures and videos and sent them off to our couple to see what they thought. We all agreed that this was the location to bring their whole vision together.

The Results

On the evening of our shoot we were blessed on so many levels. First, we had a quick and easy connection with this couple. We quickly settled into getting to know each other and sharing laughs as we set up. Next, we had spectacular weather. Not too hot, not too cold and perfect for what they were wearing. Finally, the evening ended with perhaps the best sunset that I have seen in 2024 and that even includes my vacation to Hawaii.

It only felt appropriate at the end of the session to stop and saying thank you to God for bringing all of these details together for a perfect night. Bianca and Carlo, we are so thankful that you reached out to us so many months ago now. We are so excited to work together on your big day in 2025. A heartfelt congratulations on your engagement. Aiden and I are both cheering you on.
