Fall Recap 2024: Session 2

I’ve been so excited to finally share Bianca and Carlos’ engagement session! We waited to post until they had the chance to share their images with friends and family—and now we’re thrilled to let you in on the magic of this beautiful evening.

Bianca reached out to me over the summer to inquire about Aiden and me photographing their wedding in 2025. We’ve been prayerfully considering when to expand our photography business into weddings, and after a series of heartfelt conversations, we all felt confident that this was the right first step. We’ve truly been blessed with the most incredible couple to take this next leap with!

The Couple: A Love Story Anchored in Faith

From our very first conversation, it was clear that Bianca and Carlos’ relationship is deeply rooted in their faith in Jesus. Their bond has grown through years of friendship, ministry, and mutual service, beginning at their church and blossoming into a Christ-centered love story.

They dream of a marriage filled with grace, support, and joy—one that reflects their love for God and each other. Every milestone in their journey has been prayerfully considered, and their engagement feels like a beautiful continuation of the story God is writing in their lives.

Their Vision: Meaningful, Intentional, and Personal

This couple envisioned images that encapsulate their life’s values and the essence of their relationship. Bianca, known for her gentle and quiet spirit, hoped the photos would capture her as Carlo sees her—a loving, faithful partner. Carlo desired that the photos reflect the deep love and respect they share. He also wanted them to be reminders of God’s provision and the bond that brought them together.

They also wanted the session to reflect their shared loved of the outdoors and nature. Along with that, they desired to showcase their unique interest in the country of China and their desire to travel there. They are both working on language acquisition and dreaming of the day that they will be able to explore this beautiful country together.

The Location: A Hidden Gem South of Calgary

When Carlo requested a location in Calgary’s south end near Spruce Meadows, I set out on an old-fashioned scouting trip—no map, just prayer and curiosity. That day I wound my way through the foothills, even stumbling into Sheep River Provincial Park. But as I turned back toward the city, I prayed for clarity… and within moments, I saw a small sign for a park I’d never heard of before.

I followed the road and discovered one of the most stunning hidden gems I’ve come across in Calgary. Quiet trails, golden grasses, and sweeping skies—it had everything we were looking for. After a quick parking lot chat with an avid hiker (and an impromptu photo tour), I texted photos and videos to Bianca and Carlos. They were just as excited as I was. We had found the spot.

The Engagement Session: Golden Light & Grateful Hearts

The evening of the shoot couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather was ideal—not too hot, not too cold—and the golden light made everything feel warm and cinematic.

We connected with Bianca and Carlos instantly. They were full of laughter and openness, making it easy for Aiden and me to guide them into poses that felt natural and true to their relationship. From playful glances to peaceful embraces, every frame felt like a reflection of who they are.

Then came the sunset. Honestly, it was the most breathtaking sky I’ve seen all year—and I just got back from Hawaii! We ended the session standing together in awe, thanking God for the beauty of the evening, the journey behind them, and all that’s still to come.
